Project on passive motion in minerals within DFG-funded Research Unit BioAntiFatigue

We are happy and excited to start our DFG-funded project on wood-inspired hydration-responsive mineral bilayers within the newly established Research Unit FOR 5657 BioAntiFatigue. The Research Unit is led by Prof. Claudia Fleck (TU Berlin) and will explore how Nature can inspire the design of fatigue-resistant materials.
Many thanks to Claudia as well as the other project partners from TU Berlin, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, the MPI of Colloids and Interfaces Potsdam, and Haifa University for the opportunity to take part in this exciting and inspiring research endeavour together with such a wonderful group of people.
